If I did it over again, I wouldn’t have photographed their wedding. I wouldn’t have even been asked to be their wedding photographers because we all would have met as friends, instead of clients, and these two would have known we could never stay off the dance floor and away from the cider long enough to take their pictures…so they would have sent us an invitation to RSVP instead of photograph.

But second best, we met as clients and became friends. I didn’t have to completely stay off the dance floor or away from the cider and I did get to take plenty of photos of this absolutely. perfect. day.

Mark and Kayla are comfortable, hilarious, and attract good people to them. I adored every part of their wedding day – truly, every single part. Their ceremony and reception were held at Sutliff Cider in Lisbon, Iowa. Sutliff was the perfect backdrop for a wedding filled with burlap, lace, beer, and love. Mark’s care and affection for Kayla was one of the best parts of the day, topped off by Kayla singing “Way I Am” much better than Ingrid Michaelson :)

We were ending our photos and Mark commented on being sad when the last photos would be taken of the evening. While I typically am tired and ready to go home, I felt the same….I could have continued photographing these two for many more hours.

Cheers to you, Mark & Kayla! Thanks for letting us be a part of your special day.

These two were natural in front of a camera – matching each other’s charisma and charm perfectly. I always enjoy getting to peek inside relationships during our photo shoots – and these two welcome others into their hearts with love and lots of laugh.

Disclaimer: These aren’t engagement photos ;) These were photos of a beautiful couple on a spring evening, just as wonderful of an opportunity to take photos, if you ask me.

I was honored to have a wedding we photographed last fall featured on Style Me Pretty. It was definitely one of our favorite weddings ever, where every little detail fell perfectly into place.
